Platinum is Popular Choice for Diamond Ring Settings and Bands
Although gold might be the traditional choice for diamond ring settings and bands, platinum is also extremely popular, because it looks modern, it’s very shiny, and highly scratch-resistant.
Platinum actually scratches quite easily, its heavier and purer than 18ct white gold but not tougher, I know because I deal with both on a daily basis as a goldsmith/stone setter. Platinum is tough though, try polishing it and you’ll know what I mean ;O
